What about pricing and payment?
Pricing is a tricky business in the editing world and there are a number of factors to consider, but rest assured that our prices are both competitive and budget friendly. Our pricing will be quoted in Canadian Dollars and subject to 13% Ontario sales tax (HST). Pricing depends on the nature and scope of the work, the word count of the document, what kind of service you are seeking, and your desired turnaround time. Please note that your desired turnaround time will affect the price, and the longer we have to work on your document would typically result in a lower price.
We can provide an estimate for work based on your stated needs when you contact us, however a final quote will not be established until our team has reviewed your document and verified the word count. A quote will be sent to you within 24-hours of receiving your file, and once payment is processed we will begin working on your document. Life isn't fixed, and neither are we! We can work with you to find the most appropriate price to suit your budget and needs.
We utilize PayPal, a secure online payment service, which offers our clients the option of using their bank account, debit card, or credit card to complete the order transaction for our services. Editing will begin only once payment is processed. Contact us to request an estimate or if you have any questions.
What is the turnaround time?
We do our utmost to accommodate your deadlines and provide turnaround times based on your needs. Turnaround times, however, can be affected by the type of service required and the scope of work involved for your particular project. We will provide you with a selection of turnaround times and pricing after an initial review of your document. Our hours of operation are Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST), not including weekends and holidays. Inquiries or submissions received outside of our business hours will default to 8 a.m. the next business day.
What happens to my document once it's been returned to me?
Markups takes your privacy and our ethical editing standards very seriously. Your document will only be shared with the editor assigned to your work and will be deleted from our systems 10 working business days after being returned to you. This 10 day period ensures that you have received your document without issue and are happy with the work, plus it affords you some piece of mind knowing that your work is still available to you should you need it re-sent for any reason during that time period. My work is not academic. Can I still use your services?
If you require business or other non-academic documents edited, please visit Markit Professional Editing Services at www.markitpros.ca.
Can you guarantee a better grade or approval/acceptance of my work if I use your services?
Our goal is to help you produce the best possible version of your work for submission through our services. However, we cannot make any judgments regarding the quality of your work. Your final grade or the successful approval of your work will ultimately depend on factors outside our control, such as the validity of the work, the amount of research conducted, or your instructor's expectations. Therefore, we cannot offer any guarantees of improved grades or approval/acceptance of your work because of our services.
Can I use your services if I live in a different country?
We accept clients from anywhere in the world with a valid PayPal account. Please note that at this time we are only able to accept work written in English.
What types of document formats do you accept?
We presently accept documents in .doc and .docx formats because we use the Track Changes feature in Microsoft Word as it allows the client to see and approve any changes made or suggested in your document. Should you wish to send your work in a different format, please contact us.
How do I figure out the word count of my document?
A useful feature of Microsoft Word is that it automatically performs a page and word count as you type a document. These are displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the document page, and if you click on the word count in the status bar a window will pop-up listing various statistics for your document. Clicking on Tools in the menu bar and selecting Word Count from the drop-down menu can also retrieve the same statistical pop-up box with the word count listed. Use the Help function on your computer should you require any further assistance.
Can you write my paper for me?
We do not write papers for clients and do not offer services for coaching or rewriting. We do not offer services to check for plagiarism; rather we assume that any document submitted for our services is authentic to the writer and academically legitimate. As such, Markups will not be held responsible for a client's decision to plagiarize or an institution’s decision to charge a client with plagiarism. We ensure that your work stays your own while simply helping to polish it so that your thoughts and context shine through with clarity and precision.
